Over the weekend, I obtained the Microsoft Azure fundamental certification. The certificate is to validate my understanding of cloud computing. This is my third certification since I joined Microsoft 7 weeks ago. This is possible because Microsoft is an organization that is big on Growth Mindset, and I have developed my mindset to align with this. My manager Nilanjana Ganguly has been a major help in achieving this and easy access to experts (Andrea Lambert Monika Kumar, MBA, PMP Yuri Diogenes, M.S. Cybersecurity Abhijat Singh Katharine Holdsworth Roxanne Beaver Derrick Love Niara Patterson Sayali Kale, Yung Hsu Ben Schultz, Mimi Plummer Jose Prieto to mention few) in various fields within the company has been a great help in making this career development possible. My interactions with them within the past weeks have opened my eyes to how much more I know about Security and IT in general and how much more I need to learn. They have been able to put me in the right direction and identify the things I need to do for me to continue growing on this path. Despite having my personal lab before coming into Microsoft in May, the hands-on experience, high level technical meetings and communication within the last 7 weeks beat everything for me. Also, the company commitment to empowering everyone is not just a mere statement as the learning resources and examination vouchers are available for free. This I have leveraged in validating my knowledge and developing myself.I have no doubt that I have made the right move accepting the offer to join this amazing organization. As I complete my time in couple of weeks, I am happy about the technical skills I am gaining in various IT areas by utilizing the opportunity in Microsoft and hopefully I would be able to continue contributing to the development of the organization that has given me so much opportunity to grow within this short period of time. #azure #security #microsoft #opportunity #development #learning #mindset #cybersecurity #growth #communication #careerdevelopment #cloudcomputing

In my inaugural week as a Cloud Security Engineering Intern at Virtually Testing Foundation, I delved into the intricate realm of AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Technologies. This immersive experience involved engaging with Whizlabs courses and labs, which proved to be not only enjoyable but also incredibly enlightening.Throughout this period, I focused on essential aspects of cloud security, encompassing the management of identities and application access within Azure AD, the implementation of robust authentication and authorization protocols, and the assurance of network and host security. Additionally, I honed my skills in securing Azure Resource Management, a critical facet in the protection of cloud environments.A significant part of my learning journey centered around Data Protection and Encryption, where I grasped the mechanisms for securing data at rest and in transit. This included a comprehensive understanding of encryption practices and effective key management strategies within cloud environments. Moreover, I delved into Cloud Security Governance and Compliance, gaining insights into compliance standards and regulatory requirements specific to cloud computing. I also learned how to establish governance policies to ensure adherence to these standards.Another pivotal area of exploration was Threat Detection and Response in Cloud Environments. This involved acquiring insights into monitoring tools and strategies for early detection of potential threats and vulnerabilities. I also delved into effective response mechanisms to address security incidents promptly in the cloud.Beyond technical skills, I dedicated time to honing my interpersonal skills, recognizing their critical importance in a professional setting. Soft skills, including effective communication, professionalism, and networking, emerged as focal points. I understand that these skills not only hold value within organizations but are also instrumental for career progression, organizational growth, and personal development.I express deep gratitude for the enriching opportunity provided by Virtually Testing Foundation.
