TOLEDO, OH — In a significant crackdown on illegal dog fighting, Toledo Police, in coordination with multiple agencies, rescued 36 dogs from various residences in North Toledo on May 30, 2024.
The operation, led by officers and detectives from the Toledo Police Special Operations Bureau, involved the execution of three residential search warrants. The raids were part of a collaborative effort with Lucas County Canine Care and Control (LC4), the Toledo Humane Society, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Office of Inspector General (USDA – OIG).
At the scenes, fourteen dogs were found at the first residence, fifteen at the second, and seven at the third, culminating in a total of 36 dogs being removed. These animals are now under the care of the Toledo Humane Society and LC4.
The investigation into the suspected dog fighting operations is ongoing, and charges against those involved are pending. Authorities urge anyone with information about dog fighting activities to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.

FORKED RIVER, NJ - Binky, a delightful three-year-old bunny, is searching for a new family at the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter in Forked River, New Jersey. Previously cherished and well-maintained, Binky was reluctantly given up due to her family's relocation. She arrived at the shelter already spayed and in excellent health.
Known for her exceptionally friendly, curious, and outgoing nature, Binky is also litter box trained and was accustomed to freely roaming her previous home. She is likely to get along with other bunnies and is open to making new friends through safe and supervised introductions.
