Instead of a pre-determined syllabus that’s been rehashed year after year, our mentors craft a curriculum based on what you need as well as what the music industry needs right now, not a decade ago. No prerequisites, no references, no musical background? No worries. All you really need to take part in our 6-9 month programs is a desire to learn, the determination to put in the work, and the drive to see it all the way to the end.

That hasn’t been an issue for Recording Connection. Over the past three decades, we’ve been building our mentor base to allow students from all over Canada and the U.S. to learn the music business from the inside of the industry. But we also designed our programs to be taken from inside your home.

For years, we’ve been offering externs the choice of remote learning. If you have a fast enough computer and internet access, you can work with any of our mentors. Whether it’s a Toronto music producer you really admire, a Memphis audio engineer with bluesy roots, or a hard-rocking audio engineer in L.A., you can train with any of them, all from the safety and comfort of your home.
