These frozen daiquiris get theirflavor from frozen sweet cherries, cherry juice, and a splash of lime juice. They forgo the red dye and artificial cherry flavor that you might see in some“cherry flavored” drinks. We have real cherry flavor in ever delicious sip!
Rum adds the classic flavor to these daiquiris, and let me tell you, they are dangerously delicious!
Speaking of dyes and artificial flavors, these floats remind me of one one of my favorite childhood treats – a cherry Mr. Misty Float from Dairy Queen. Do you guys remember those?
Our annual family Labor Day trip to my aunt and uncle’s house in Arizona always includedseveral trips to Dairy Queen. I consistentlyordereda red cherry slushie made into a float with a swirl of vanilla soft serve. It was SO good! Icy, creamy, tangy andsweet, and (incidentally) loaded with lots of bright red food coloring. Ha!
These floats are a grown up version of that childhood favorite. They definitely go down easily.
Is it dessert? Is it a co*cktail? I don’t know, just get one in your handand let’s do summer right. Cheers!
Here are some last minutered, white, and blue recipes for the 4th of July. Have a lovelyholiday weekend! I’ll see you back heresoon.

A classic daiquiri combines sweet and tart flavors in a refreshing, balanced profile. Lime juice provides a bright citrusy acidity, complemented by the sweetness of simple syrup and the distinct taste of rum.
Frozen Strawberry Daiquiris are made with white rum which is clear. I use Bacardi which is a popular mid-level brand which is widely available around most of the world. But you can use any, like Havana Club, Appleton, Cruz. Bacardi is a mid shelf quality white rum.
Using plain sugar is certainly more convenient than making a syrup, no matter how simple, so I decided to give Wondrich's method a try. I squeezed half a lime into my shaker, added a heaping teaspoon of sugar to the juice, gave it a quick stir, then added two ounces of rum.
The Hemingway daiquiri brings the subtly sweet, dry cherry taste of maraschino liqueur and tart grapefruit into the classic daiquiri mix of rum and lime. Hemingway took this daiquiri without sugar, but most people prefer the added sweetness. Feel free to make a Hemingway with or without the optional simple syrup.
In these cases, the best rum for desserts is always a dark aged rum, like the Dos Maderas 5+5 or Selección and for those desserts that get lit on fire, including the deceptively complex yet truly simple New Orleans Bananas Foster, a higher proof dark rum is ideal.
The main difference is the alcohol in each co*cktail. Margaritas are made with tequila and sweetened with triple sec, while daiquiris are made with white rum and simple syrup for sweetener. Their common ingredients are lime juice, lots of ice and sometimes fruit juices.
The daiquiri (/ˈdaɪkəri, ˈdæk-/; Spanish: daiquirí [dajkiˈɾi]) is a co*cktail whose main ingredients are rum, citrus juice (typically lime juice), and sugar or other sweetener.
Rum is a liquor made by fermenting and then distilling sugarcane molasses or sugarcane juice. The distillate, a clear liquid, is often aged in barrels of oak.
Combine half the mango, half the rum, half the vodka, 3/4 cup lemon juice and 1/2 cup sugar syrup in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add half the 6 cups crushed ice. Blend until just combined.
Do Daiquiris Get You Drunk? Don't let the sweet flavor fool you–any drink with rum as the main ingredient has the potential to get you drunk. Even when you're enjoying a summer party, drink responsibly.
But a Piña Colada actually is pretty much what people imagine, a sweet, slushy, blend of rum, coconut and tropical juice (pineapple to be exact). But that doesn't mean it isn't totally delicious.

Most alcoholic beverages contain carbohydrates or added sugars. This is particularly important for individuals with Type 2 Diabetes who are trying to manage their blood sugar. For example, mixed drinks like margaritas, piña coladas, and daiquiris often have a high sugar content with more than 30 grams per serving!
The sweetness of a margarita or daiquiri depends on the recipe and ingredients used. Both co*cktails can be made sweet or tart, depending on the amount of sugar or citrus added.
Humans perceive alcohol as a combination of sweet and bitter tastes, odors, and oral irritation (e.g., burning sensation), all of which vary as a function of concentration (Bartoshuk et al., 1993; Green, 1987; Mattes and DiMeglio, 2001).
