The Castafiore Emerald is one of the adventures that is quite different from every others. The action is set in one location, and it does a lot with its ideas to create something really entertaining. Compared to other adventures, this is a significantly laid back affair, one that plays out like a thriller with plenty of comic relief. It’s very good in what it does, and it’s one of the most surprisingly entertaining Tintin adventures. By mixing thriller aspects with some humor, The Castafiore Emerald is an enjoyable and entertaining adventure that is one of the most layed back of Tintin’s adventures.
I say Layed back because there is some tension and thrills to be had here, but unlike several…

Maybe the weirdest Tintin story ever. Hergé apparently wrote this one with the intention of it being an “anti-Tintin” story and that’s very accurate. The story takes place entirely within a single building, Tintin isn’t really the main character, and essentially every mystery element is just a red herring played for laughs. Not to mention that literally nothing happens for 90% of this story, it’s mostly just the characters fucking around with Bianca Castafiore. But despite all of these aspects that seem like negatives at face value, I think they come together to make something that is kinda charming in its own way, a story that knows not to take itself super seriously. It’s a fun one
I have a list for this now, check it out -

Probably the most unusual story from a TinTin perspective. It’s so unlike him as a character. I don’t think it works well. I like the single location story idea but it really ends here.

Literally nothing happens.
No surprise that the worst Hergé story remains inadequate in adaptation.
Seriously, was it a writing exercise or something?

Maybe the worst Tintin story?
I don't know, it's hard to say this is the absolute worst thing out there, but the mystery is one of the dullest and uninteresting in the collection. It goes on for way longer than it has any right to, and it has some of the worst character silly moments in the series.
Not much else to write about except that the animation in this is nice and consistent with the rest of the series!

Diese Geschichte sticht etwas heraus, weil sie nur an einer Location spielt, besitzt dafür aber viele lustige Momente, einen Plot zum mitraten und alle Hauptcharaktere vereint!

One of my favourite Hergé Tintin stories. Incredibly atypical of the canon, eschewing all the usual action and intrigue for a character based comedy farce, with only the lightest mystery elements. After the problematic racist elements of the earlier titles, its condemnation of the poor treatment and prejudgment of the gypsies is quite refreshing. Hergé’s writing definitely matured and peaked toward the end of his career, Calculus Affair is a beautifully paced thriller, Tintin in Tibet a strong character drama with mystical elements and then the science fiction weirdness of Flight 714. Such a strong run of stories.
If I was rating Castafiore Emerald the book it would be an easy 10/10 but this TV series is about a 7/10 at its peak.

I would have liked it more if they ended it after the first half. The Castafiore is pretty annoying and I liked the ending of the first half more.

Probably the most chill Tintin story ever, wouldn’t even call it an adventure
